Common questions about Thaddeus –

I have a normal coated English bulldog girl can I have fluffy puppies if I use Thaddeus?

No- Thaddeus carries a recessive gene that must be doubled up in a puppy to create a visually fluffy bulldog puppy. This means your Bitch will also need to carry the recessive gene and those genes will need to be passed by each parent (one copy from each) at the same time in order to produce a visually fluffy puppy.

So what will I produce?

Thaddeus theoretically will pass the recessive gene to half of his offspring. This means that from your litter you may have carrier puppies. The gene can be tested for following a very simple process of dna testing. Once identified these puppies can go on in the future to produce fluffy puppies if you mate to a fluffy or fluffy carrier bulldog.

If my bitch carries fluffy and I use Thaddeus will I produce fluffy bulldogs?

In theory yes! If both parents pass the recessive gene at the same time to the puppy the puppy will be visually fluffy, some of your puppies will be carriers this will happen when one of the parents passes the green but the other does not. You may also produce normal coated bulldogs when neither parent has passed the gene for recessive long hair to the puppy in question. Using a punnett square you would expect to have 25% fluffy puppies 50% carrier puppies and 25% normal coated puppies of course Mother Nature can differ From what we statistically expect to see and there are no guarantees you may have a higher number of fluffys!

I don’t know how to dna test my dog or the puppies can you help with this?

Yes we are happy to provide as much support and advice as you require to help you through the mating, Whelping and dna process.

Can you help me in all aspects of breeding my dog and knowing when she is ready to breed?

Yes we can provide full help and advice from the day your Bitch comes into season, progesterone testing and mating, pregnancy and Whelping until your puppies go to their loving new homes and beyond, in some cases we can also provide Whelping services for you for the first few weeks of your litter (at cost).

Do you offer financing or do pups backs?

Whilst we prefer to stud out Thaddeus on a Stud fee basis Camlist can provide in some cases financing options and we may consider a pup back deal on certain bitches.
